The Magic of Growth and the Modern Economy
We will explore the ideas, myths, and narrativethat make growth appear both inevitable and desirable, and examine how these relate to our understanding of freedom and political orders.
The evening will open with a lecture by Dr. Andreas Friedolin Lingg (Hans Christoph Binswanger Fellow 2025) on economic growth in the Republic of Venice. This will be followed by a panel discussion among Collegium Fellows and scholars, moderated by Prof. Claudia Brühwiler and including Prof. Mathias Binswanger. The evening honors the intellectual legacy of the late Hans Christoph Binswanger, professor at HSG from 1969-1994.
